1.01

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

So we have been selling for a while now and I have had the usual couple of bugs discovered, so we shipped 1.01 in the early hours of this morning.
This update fixes the following:

The trial now does not expire when entering an incorrect serial number.
The “Ask for decryption confirmation” preference now works as expected.
    The URL’s have been updated.
Added another error dialog explaining a known issue to users (see below).

However, as I wanted to get those fixes out there are still 2 known issues.
There seems to be a bug in the eSellerate engine. If you run BitClamp for a folder whose name contains a space (some examples have been “my applications” and “3rd party apps”) The engine fails to install itself and so forces BitClamp to quit.
Im working on this with eSellerate as we speak so a fix isn’t far off, but a more descriptive error message, including the workaround
The second bug is very rare. But occasionally BitClamp seems to not be able to decompress one of its files. Luckily I caught an example of this and I’m working very hard for a fix. Expect to see it in the next week or so.
Other than that everything seems to be pretty smooth, some have had issues registering, but that appears to be traffic to the servers as the issue resolved itself after some time.
Thanks to the many of you that bought BitClamp on the first 2 days and the many downloaders. I have had some great feedback and 1.1 is set to be a hot release. However, we are still in need of publicity. If anyone would like a free review license - contact me through the form.
We are however, a Staff Pick on Apple.com.
